K. Elliott Nowels
K. Elliott Nowels is a strategic communications counselor, author and business leader dedicated to food and agriculture. He has deep experience as an agricultural journalist, editor, publisher and public relations practitioner with an extensive background in issues management, pest control, crop production, ag media and the crop input distribution channel. Clients served include AGCO, Bayer, Deltapine, DuPont, The Fertilizer Institute, John Deere, Monsanto, National FFA, Valent and others.
Founding Clear Window Multimedia in 1983, Elliott built and led, with Robert J. Wanzel, the diversified and integrated communications enterprise, publishing Dealer PROGRESS, launching the PrecisionAg brand, building a video production business and serving agribusiness clients with public relations counseling. Prior to founding Clear Window, Elliott worked for the National FFA, Alexandria, VA; Venard Films Ltd., East Peoria, IL and Sarkett and Associates, Chicago.
Robert J. Wanzel
Bob Wanzel is a veteran communicator with a career that includes all aspects of motion picture and video production as well as journalism (magazine contributor and editor) and website design. His video experience includes writing, narration, videoagraphy, and editor. He began his career in motion picture production at the University of Illinois Extension Service and Venard Films Ltd. Wanzel has a masters in film, television and radio from the University of Iowa.
Bob has produced news video for the DuPont Environmental Respect Program, the PrecisionAg Institute and The Fertilizer Institute’s 4R Nutrient Stewardship Awards Program.
Wanzel has spent much of his career developing visual communication and integrated services for key clients such as DuPont, Valent, Coca-Cola, the National FFA, Simplot, Deltapine, Monsanto and many others.
John Gilroy
John Gilroy is a business consultant, author, and radio personality, known as an expert on the issues affecting technology adoption and Internet marketing. John may be best known as the original “Computer Guy” on WAMU 88.5 FM, National Public Radio (NPR) in nation’s capital. John first went on the air in 1991, after a decade of sales and business development for Exxon and Item, Inc. in the Washington, D.C. area. The popular monthly banter on NPR continues today.
From 1996 to 2006, John authored a weekly column for the Washington Post called “Ask the Computer Guy,” and in 2007, Federal News Radio asked John to create and host a weekly interview program called “Federal Tech Talk.” Since that start, John has interviewed 534 guests and his show has become a key source for IT knowledge in the Washington metro area.
In 2011 Georgetown University’s (GU) graduate school engaged John to develop and teach a course in social media marketing. John has also keynoted GU events and moderated seminars. In 2014 John became certified in Outbound Marketing by Hubspot and has just passed his Google Adwords Certification test.
Kim McCloskey
Kim McCloskey is a results-focused manager with more than 15 years experience in journalism, marketing, public relations, and event and project management. With 12 of those years working in the agriculture industry, Kim offers talents in creative idea development, project execution and delivery to clients, budget management, developing project scope (timelines, budgets and delivery dates), and customer relationship management.
As a skillful integrated communications expert, Kim has applied her project management skills to a wide variety of projects in agriculture as well as locally with non-government organizations. With a passion for serving others, she has applied her public relations skills to serve agriculture and clients such as OmniStar, Trimble, Monsanto, DuPont and the Farm Journal Foundation. Kim was instrumental in running DuPont’s Environmental Respect Awards and also the development of PrecisionAg WORKS, an initiative of the PrecisionAg Institute. She currently also serves Project Hope, a family shelter, with grant-writing and development.
She also developed and managed a project called “Trait Talk” for Monsanto, designed to answer cotton grower questions about resistance management and quality cotton.
